About ÀBO Village
Child-centered, Family-based care community

What is Abo Village?
Abo Village is a child-centred, family-based care community providing long-term safety, stability, and growth for children without parental guardians. We are building a sustainable village of clay-structured dome homes and shared community spaces, where children will live in family-style settings, supported by trained caregivers. ÀBÒ Village also offers education through our on-site school, creative development through art and music studios, digital literacy through our computer lab, and holistic growth through community gardens, play areas, and mentorship programs.
Our team is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where children can heal, learn, and belong. We strive to redefine care for vulnerable children in Nigeria, offering a permanent, guardian-led village where love, education, and opportunity replace the uncertainty of institutional and non-recreational care. Every child at Àbọ̀ Village has a place to grow, thrive, and call home.

When we begin.
Our journey is already taking root. As of August 2025, the groundwork for ÀBÒ Village has begun — with plans, partnerships, and preparations moving into motion. We will launch our first crowdfunding campaign on November 22nd, 2025, inviting our global community to help lay the foundation for this vision.
Our goal is to break ground in 2026 and to see ÀBÒ Village come to life and begin welcoming children by the end of that same year. There is much to build and many spaces to shape, but every step forward brings us closer to the moment when love, care, and opportunity will fill our village walls.
Where Are We?
ÀBÒ Village will be located in Emure, Ekiti, Nigeria, surrounded by a rich cultural heritage and a vibrant local community. While the village will be rooted in Emure, our outreach will extend across Nigeria to find and support children who need a home, guidance, and a future filled with possibility. As a long term goal of ours, this village is only the start of our mission which is to expand and grow to reach all parts of the world.

Who Are We?
ÀBÒ Village is a child-centered, family-based community dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children in need of care and belonging. We are a team of passionate caregivers, educators, councellers and community builders who believe every child deserves love, stability, and the opportunity to thrive.

Every day, we meet new passionate hearts, and our team continues to grow!
Meet the Founder

Doyin Onile
Doyin Onile is a singer-songwriter, visual artist, author, and world traveler with a heart rooted in creativity, compassion, and community. Growing up as the youngest of five in a home where her mother’s open-door policy welcomed anyone in need of food, comfort, or care, Doyin learned early what it meant to live a life of service and love. Surrounded by children and laughter, her home became her first classroom in empathy and shared responsibility.
At just 13, after her aunt’s passing, Doyin helped raise her young cousin for a year while her mother worked full time an experience that planted the seed for her lifelong devotion to children’s well-being.
After leaving behind a 15-year career in fashion modelling and wardrobe styling at age 27, Doyin set out to explore the world and rediscover purpose. Her travels led her to create children’s and community spaces across Latin America from volunteering and painting with children in Colombia, to founding the Puerto Viejo Kidz Klub in Costa Rica, a free community program that ran for two years and brought learning, play, and creative expression to local children. She also offered one-on-one Vocal Expression Therapy sessions and organized a free town fair for kids, continuing to make art and joy her bridge to connection.
The dream of building a home for children without families began when Doyin was around 10 years old, after realizing that not every child grows up surrounded by love. Inspired by her favorite film, Annie, she promised herself that one day, she would create a home where every child could feel seen, safe, and loved.
In early 2024, after the heartbreaking loss of her sister, Doyin found herself searching deeply for meaning and direction. During a moment of prayer and reflection, she wrote a list of her passions and dreams — and as always, “orphanage” appeared at the top. But this time, something felt different. It was the only word that made her smile through the grief and filled her with purpose. She knew instantly: the time was now.
From that moment, ÀBÒ Village was born — a vision of home, healing, and hope for children in Nigeria, built with love, creativity, and community at its heart.
