Permanent Guardianship Program
ÀBÒ Village is not your average orphanage — and that’s why our name reflects something different. Our philosophy is simple yet profound: every child who joins us is already home. They are not waiting to be “chosen” or taken away, but rather to be nurtured, supported, and loved within a secure community.
Our Permanent Guardianship Program is a thoughtful and deeply intentional process designed with the well-being of each child at its core. Prospective guardians begin with a required 1.5-month volunteer period within the ÀBÒ Village Children’s Homes. During this time, our team observes and gently evaluates the natural connection between the guardian and the child of their heart’s choice — without informing the child, to protect them from potential disappointment or emotional harm.
When a genuine bond is evident, our house guardian will then speak privately with the child to learn how they feel about the potential guardian. This careful, heart-centered approach ensures that any placement made is truly in the child’s best interest.
Should a child be adopted, the guardian enters into a commitment that includes regular check-ins with our youth counselors and maintains the child’s right to return home if their emotional or physical well-being is ever at risk. At ÀBÒ Village, love means lifelong care — and every child will always have a home to come back to.
