Will I get proof or updates of my sponsorship and contribution as it reaches the village? Yes, you will! We want everyone contributing to the village to feel truly part of its growth. As we purchase and build, we’ll share video updates and progress so that each sponsor can see their contribution come to life in real time. Does 100% of my donation go to the village? Your donation goes directly toward the areas of greatest need within ÀBÒ Village. In these early stages, most funds support building and construction, but as we grow, priorities may shift. Permanent Guardianship Is Permanent Guardianship the same as adopting? The short answer is yes — but our process is far more intentional. At ÀBÒ Village, we take great pride in the quality of care we provide for our children. A child only leaves our care if we truly believe they will have better opportunities or a higher quality of life with one of our permanent guardians after their volunteer stay. Even after placement, our children are never left entirely in the hands of guardians; we maintain regular check-ins and scheduled calls as time progresses to ensure their well-being. Because we never want a situation to result in the “return of a child,” we have counselors who support both the child and the guardians throughout the transition. While returning is always our last resort, our version of the adoption agreement clearly states that if at any point a child wishes to return home (ÀBÒ Village), or if their care, mental health, or overall well-being is found to be below our standards, the process of their return will begin immediately. What if I can't volunteer? Unfortunately, permanent guardianship cannot be granted immediately. At ÀBÒ Village, permanent guardianship is only considered after a volunteer period and a thorough evaluation. This process is vital to ensuring that every child is placed in a truly nurturing and stable environment.
